A new community space for all.

A new vision.

Our story

We are the Colvestone Co-Lab, a group of local residents, creative organisations and businesses who have come together to propose a vibrant, creative community hub in the former Colvestone Primary School buildings.

Our future

By opening up key areas – from performance halls and galleries to workshops, a museum, a welcoming café, gardens and a playground – we’ll ensure this historic building remains a living landmark: a place where Dalston’s past and future meet.

Help us shape a future for Colvestone Primary School that continues its 150-year tradition of serving the community – a place where creativity, learning, and social good thrive together.

Our proposal

Our proposal is driven by a clear purpose: to put public benefit at the heart of Colvestone’s next chapter. We imagine the site reborn as a lively creative hub – a place alive with workshops, performances, artist studios, and learning spaces that spark wellbeing, cultural exchange, and connection across generations.

“This is a fantastic proposal from a consortium made up of truly inspirational groups and organisations that will help to keep a beautiful and historic building alive and thriving in the community it has been part of for so long.”
